Affordable Dental Implants at Our Sydney Clinic

If you or a loved one have a missing tooth/teeth, implants are the best way to replace them. They look and feel so natural that it’s as if you grew “another tooth”. They allow you to eat and smile with comfort, knowing that the implant won’t just fall out or break while eating and speaking.

Whether you require replacing a single tooth, full mouth reconstruction with multiple implants and bridge crowns, or a few implants that support a denture, we are here to help you.

For most patients, having their missing teeth replaced by dental implants not only gave their teeth a second chance, but also gave them a better “second life”.

Single Tooth Dental Implants

If you are missing a single tooth, one implant with a crown can replace it without sacrificing the health of the neighbouring teeth. A dental implant replaces both the lost natural tooth and its root/s.

In the long run, a single implant can deliver better aesthetics and be easier to maintain than a fixed bridge. Gums can recede around a bridge, leaving a visible defect when the metal base or collar of the bridge becomes exposed. Resorbed bone beneath the bridge can lead to an unattractive smile. Also, the cement holding the bridge in place can wash out and dissolve.

Do you have a tooth that needs to be extracted soon? Worried of going home toothless after that extraction appointment from your dentist’s office? Worry no more! With Immediate Implantation, we can give you an implant and a temporary crown right after your tooth is pulled out! This means you’re not leaving our office toothless!

How do we do it? First, we carefully loosen your tooth with special equipment, usually with Waterlase laser to keep the bony walls of the socket intact, which is usually broken during extraction using the conventional method. Then we remove all infected tissues and sterilise the socket with Waterlase laser, and place the implant. We usually have to place some bone graft to fill in the gap between the implant and the socket wall, to keep the contour of your bone. A temporary crown can then be placed until such time we can place the permanent one.

Multiple Implants and Bridge (Implant-Supported Bridge)

If you are missing several teeth, implant-supported bridges can replace them. Unlike implant-supported dentures, they are FIXED in your mouth and are not removable, unless the dentist intends to do so for maintenance or repair purposes.

Dental implants provide several advantages over other teeth replacement options. In addition to looking and functioning like natural teeth, implant-supported bridges replace teeth without support from adjacent natural teeth. Other common treatments for the loss of several teeth, such as fixed bridges or removable partial dentures, are dependent on support from the neighbouring teeth.

In addition, because implant-supported bridges will replace some of your tooth roots, your bone is better preserved. With a fixed bridge or removable partial denture, the bone that previously surrounded the tooth root may begin to shrink. Dental implants integrate with your jawbone, helping to keep the bone healthy and intact.

Implant-Supported Denture

If you have lost most or all of your teeth but have very little bone left to hold an implant-supported bridge, an Implant-Supported Denture could be your solution.

Depending on your case, a minimum of four dental implants can hold a denture in your mouth to replace all of your teeth. These implants connect to an overdenture with magnets, ball and O-ring attachments, or with special clips.

The main advantage of having an implant-supported denture over a normal gum-supported denture is greatly improved retention and stability of the denture in your mouth, which means NO MORE LOOSE DENTURES!

Sinus Lifting

To replace a lost molar or a premolar in the UPPER jaw only, sometimes a Sinus Lift is necessary. With long-term tooth loss, the Upper jawbone shrinks in height and the Maxillary Sinuses pneumatize (expand) downwards. To facilitate bone grafting in order to provide adequate bone height for implantation, a Sinus Lift becomes necessary. This results in shortened bone height available for implant placement. Depending on several factors, a sinus lift can be done either “internally” or “laterally”. The “Internal Sinus Lift”, otherwise known as the “Trans-alveolar technique” is the most commonly performed technique. In our Sydney practice, we safely perform this by the use of hydraulic pressure, instead of direct manual manipulation of the sinus floor. After gently and effectively pushing the sinus floor up with hydraulic pressure, a graft can then be placed to hold the new sinus floor position in place. This facilitates safe insertion of the implant within the bone.

Not only does this procedure make implantation possible in this situation, but also serves as a preventive measure to preserve the integrity of the Maxillary Sinuses during implantation.
